Policy Statement:
Green State Oil and Gas Services Inc. Technical University recognizes the value of prior learning and qualifications in the field of Occupational Safety & Health. This exemption policy is designed to provide opportunities for individuals who hold relevant qualifications, including Level 4 Diploma, Level 5 Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Level 6 Diplomas in Occupational Safety & Health, IOSH and NEBOSH Diplomas, or recognized Professional equivalent qualifications, to gain exemptions from specific courses within the BSc in Occupational Health & Safety Management program.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for exemptions, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a recognized Level 4 Diploma, Level 5 Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, or a IOSH or NEBOSH Diploma.
- Provide official transcripts or certificates as evidence of their qualifications.
- Apply for admission to the BSc in Occupational Health & Safety Management program at Green State Oil and Gas Services Inc. Technical University.
Exemption Criteria:
Exemptions will be granted based on a review of the qualifications and their alignment with the curriculum of the BSc program. Exemptions may be considered for courses that cover substantially similar content and learning outcomes.
Exemption Process:
The exemption process involves the following steps:
1. Application for Admission:
Applicants should apply for admission to the BSc program, indicating their intention to apply for exemptions based on their qualifications.
2. Submission of Qualifications:
Applicants must provide official transcripts and certificates of their Level 4 Diploma, Level 5 Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, or NEBOSH Diploma.
3. Review and Assessment:
The university’s Admissions and Exemptions Committee will review the qualifications and compare them to the curriculum of the BSc program. This committee may include academic advisors and subject matter experts.
4. Interview (if necessary):
In some cases, applicants may be required to participate in an interview or provide additional documentation to clarify the content and depth of their prior qualifications.
5. Exemption Decision:
Based on the review and assessment, the committee will decide regarding the specific courses for which exemptions will be granted.

Limits on Exemptions:
While exemptions may be granted for relevant qualifications, there may be limits on the total number of exemptions allowed. The university reserves the right to determine the maximum number of exemptions permissible to ensure that students gain a comprehensive understanding of the program’s core concepts and competencies. The maximum number of exemptions for this program is 270 Credits.
Appeals:
Applicants who are dissatisfied with the exemption decision may appeal to the university’s Appeals Committee, following the university’s established appeals process.
